Feeling lost? Having an identity crisis? How to find yourself?

Do you feel like you’ve lost yourself a little? You no longer really know who you are. What do I like? What do I hate? What makes me happy? Who am I?
Why am I experiencing this? What is causing it? And how can I find myself again?

First of all, it is important to take a moment to reflect on your life over the past period in which you felt the least like yourself. Let’s say, for example, a period of one year. Write down on a piece of paper or in a Word document everything that happened during that year and the situations you were in. Under each event, briefly describe how it made you feel. This could be a moment when you felt extremely happy, but also a moment when you felt very nervous.

While writing everything down, the moments that affected you the most may give you a strange gut feeling that is not very pleasant. But that is exactly what we want. Because now we can truly address the problem. You can write a long piece about that one issue you struggled with, describing all your feelings in detail. On one hand, it gives you the feeling of, “Now I don’t have to carry it all inside me anymore because everything is already written down, and I can slowly let it go.” On the other hand, this is also a moment where you can truly discover who you really are. You start to realize what you did not like and, because of that, what your boundaries, morals, and values are. You can also learn valuable life lessons from all of these moments.

Many people do not do this, and that is quite concerning because it can help you tremendously in your personal development. A person should always stay open to personal growth and self-improvement.

Also, take a moment for yourself every single day; an extra hour where you can take care of yourself. This can be both mental and physical. Mentally, you can learn more about personal growth and your emotions by reading books or scientific articles. Physically, you can work out or take care of your skin. Turn off your phone for a while and take a break from social media.

Social media and constant exposure to short videos can overload your brain, make you tired, irritated, and constantly distracted. Because of excessive social media use, people no longer make time to take care of themselves. They wake up, go to work or school, come home, and mindlessly scroll for hours. Then it is time for dinner, of course while watching another brain-rotting video, and afterward they lie in bed scrolling for hours until it is finally time to sleep. Protect yourself and your brain before it is too late!!
